Tips for Avoiding Xbox 360's 3 Red Lights


These are a few things about the Xbox 360 on how to prevent the Xbox 360's 3 red lights. Some of these things are pretty much common sense where as others you may not have thought of.

  1. NEVER put your Xbox 360 on the carpet!! You will find that it gets horribly clogged which leads to overheating, which leads to the Xbox 360 3 red lights.
  2. ALWAYS make sure you Xbox 360 is in a well ventilated area preferably away from any other electronics or sources of heat.
  3. NEVER store anything on top of your Xbox 360
  4. NEVER try and clean the lens unless you are 100% sure what your doing
  5. NEVER blow air duster in your Xbox 360, if you use duster remove the case from your xbox 360 and clean it that way
  6. NEVER try to use some extreme method in an attempt to fix you xbox 360s red lights, like wrapping a towel around it or attaching pennies to it, if someone tells you this worked they are wrong, rigging your Xbox 360 is just going to make the Xbox 360 3 red lights appear faster
  7. NEVER leave your Xbox 360 on for hours and hours at a time, the longer it stays on the hotter it gets and in turn shortens the life on your Xbox 360 considerably. You can go in to your settings from the Xbox 360 dashboard and set a sleep timer on your console
  8. ALWAYS ( if you have the HD space ) download your games to the Xbox 360, this will make it to were your console doesn't have to spin the disc as much while your playing the game, which in turn extends the life of your console and its hardware
  9. NEVER try to Mod your Xbox 360, 90% of the people who try it don't have a clue what they are doing and end up causing more harm then good.
  10. ALWAYS make sure before you do anything in an attempt to fix your Xbox 360 3 red lights, you consult a reputable instruction manual or program.
