Things I tried Without success

Like I said in the earlier post I tried ALOT of the "quick fixes" on my Xbox 360 to TRY to get rid of the 3 red lights before i tried "The James Dean 3 Red Lights Fix Pro." All of these I had no success with, even the ones that "promised" results. Below is a list of everything I tried before trying "The James Dean 3 Red Lights Fix Pro."

Wrapping a towel around it
plugging and unplugging every wire over and over again
Cleaning with air duster
setting it on a laptop cooling pad
standing it up
putting it next to a fan
putting a fan on it
Opening the case (doing this voids your warranty so be warned)
Punching it
Pleading with it
slamming my head into the wall
changing the position of the power supply
cleaning the power supply
contacted Microsoft to be told i needed to give them $140+

Finally after being told I needed to give them $140 I decided Id rather invest a fraction of that and know that i wont have the 3 red lights anymore. That's why I consider The James Dean 3 Red Lights Fix Pro to be the first choice for anyone trying to get rid of the Xbox 360 3 red light error

Tips for Avoiding Xbox 360's 3 Red Lights

These are a few things about the Xbox 360 on how to prevent the Xbox 360's 3 red lights. Some of these things are pretty much common sense where as others you may not have thought of.

NEVER put your Xbox 360 on the carpet!! You will find that it gets horribly clogged which leads to overheating, which leads to the Xbox 360 3 red lights.
ALWAYS make sure you Xbox 360 is in a well ventilated area preferably away from any other electronics or sources of heat.
NEVER store anything on top of your Xbox 360
NEVER try and clean the lens unless you are 100% sure what your doing
NEVER blow air duster in your Xbox 360, if you use duster remove the case from your xbox 360 and clean it that way
NEVER try to use some extreme method in an attempt to fix you xbox 360s red lights, like wrapping a towel around it or attaching pennies to it, if someone tells you this worked they are wrong, rigging your Xbox 360 is just going to make the Xbox 360 3 red lights appear faster
NEVER leave your Xbox 360 on for hours and hours at a time, the longer it stays on the hotter it gets and in turn shortens the life on your Xbox 360 considerably. You can go in to your settings from the Xbox 360 dashboard and set a sleep timer on your console
ALWAYS ( if you have the HD space ) download your games to the Xbox 360, this will make it to were your console doesn't have to spin the disc as much while your playing the game, which in turn extends the life of your console and its hardware
NEVER try to Mod your Xbox 360, 90% of the people who try it don't have a clue what they are doing and end up causing more harm then good.
ALWAYS make sure before you do anything in an attempt to fix your Xbox 360 3 red lights, you consult a reputable instruction manual or program.

So what can I do about Xbox 360's 3 red lights

So you woke up and today and went to turn on your Xbox 360 and what do you know, you've got the 3 red lights!! Now before you go tossing your Xbox 360 in the garbage or taking your frustrations out on it there are some things you could do that might get rid of your Xbox 360's 3 red lights.

MAKE SURE YOU ALLOW YOUR XBOX 360 AT LEAST 2 HOURS TO COOL DOWN BEFORE TRYING EACH SUGGESTION

Check your connections, unplug and replug everything in. Sometimes a loose power supply with cause your Xbox 360's 3 red lights.
Make sure you don't have something blocking a vent on either your Xbox 360 or the power brick itself.
Make sure you place your Xbox 360 in a well ventilated area.
If your warranty is void or you don't mind voiding it, open up the top part of the case itself, gently lift the disc drive out of the system and disconnect it. Next lift up the white piece of metal that runs from the vents to your CPU and GPU, At this point you can take Duster and spray the vents clean and the motherboard. Also I recommend removing the fan and cleaning that as well. this will sometimes get rid of the Xbox 360 3 red lights.
One thing I tried that gave me a little more time on my Xbox 360 was after I removed the cover i placed a store bought mini fan on top of the motherboard. It worked as a temporary fix, but eventually my Xbox 360 3 red lights returned.
See if there are any Xbox 360 repair techs locally, I found a guy who replaced my disc drive for $50 when I had the open tray error, unfortunately it was also a temporary fix.

If all else fails you could always send your Xbox 360 back to Microsoft ( if your still under warranty ) and pay them $140+ to fix it and send it back in about 2 months or you could spend a fraction of that and choose from some of the guides on how to fix your Xbox 360 3 red lights. I personally used This Guide and have yet to have any problems with the 2 Xbox 360's I got up and running, and it only took me about 2 hours and a trip to the hardware store to do it. Like i said though its only a suggestion there are a lot of guides on how to fix your Xbox 360 3 red lights, this is just the one that worked best for me.
